Yves Saint Laurent sent me the Mon Paris Star Collector perfume to try out and as a perfume lover and I couldn’t say no. This is my first YSL perfume and I was very impressed. Watch my initial reaction and first impression below.
First of all the packaging is sleek and classic in a sugary pink and black color. It wouldn’t scream at you from a shelf but it is tasteful and means it would suit a lot of different age groups if you’re contemplating picking this up as a gift for someone.
The glass bottle is also clean and chic with a simple black bow tied around the neck and a small engraved YSL logo. The liquid inside is a light clear pink and again, I think this looks elegant enough to gift an older relative while still being pink and cute enough for a teenage girl.
But now for the important part, the scent. This is described as a sweet and fruity fragrance and I would definitely agree with that. When I got my first whiff of this, I really like it. I believe my exact words in my video were “Wow! That smells good!” The top notes are strawberry, raspberry, pear, Calabrian bergamot, calone, orange and tangerine. The heart is made up of datura flower, peony, orange blossom, jasmine sambac and Chinese jasmine. Finally it dries down to a base of Indonesian patchouli leaf, white musk, ambroxan, patchouli, cedar, moss and vanilla. When I first spray it I can pick up on all of the fruity top notes then it dries down to a more mature base.
The fragrance was attractive to my husband and it lasted a good amount of hours. Summer is right around the corner and I will enjoy wearing this in the sweet summer sun.
